AI discoverability is whether an AI assistant (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot) can find, understand, and cite your website when someone asks it a question your business could answer.
It's not the same as SEO
Traditional SEO optimizes for a ranked list of links. AI discoverability optimizes for being the source an assistant quotes directly in a synthesized answer, which depends less on backlinks and more on whether your content is structured clearly enough to be lifted as a clean, accurate answer.
What actually helps
Clear definition statements near the top of a page. FAQ content that mirrors how people actually ask questions. Structured data that tells a crawler what a page is, not just what it says. And, easy to overlook, content that a crawler without a JavaScript engine can actually read, which rules out anything rendered only client-side.
